I have never been to an auto show before and I always thought that cities like Tokyo, Chicago and Los Angeles got to hog all the concepts and production models that auto manufacturers get to reveal each year. Turns out I was wrong since my hometown of St. Louis gets their own auto show each year. Granted, it's not as glamorous or as big a deal as the other shows, but at least we get a chance to see what each auto company has up their sleeves.
The website says that over 500 production and concept cars will be on the floor for us to see with some models allowed for the usual tire-kicking and a quick sit-down inside. There will also be chances for some to test drive models from Kia, General Motors and Toyota. I get to go with one of my best buds from high school, Max, and we'll get a chance to ride or test drive one of (hopefully both) of these cars...

They'll have other stuff going on during the show like giveaways of some cash, a flat-screen TV, small prizes and there's one particular section I would like to see called the Million Dollar Mile. Essentially, it's a collection of some world famous supercars or sports cars like Ferrari, Porsche, Lambourghini, Bentley and Rolls Royce. But, what has me really excited is the inclusion of THE...MOST...EXPENSIVE... supercar in the world.
The famed Bugatti Veyron will be at the show not to be driven but to be seen. I can't imagine how anyone would want to drive a normal Veyron. The one at the show will be the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport which is priced at ... $2.4 million. The original is an amazing car but this version has four enlarged turbochargers attached to the W-16 engine which helps produce 1200 horsepower. With other tweaks in the structure, design, shocks and suspension, this car gets a top speed of 267 mph!!! With this car making an appearance and other fun stuff that will be waiting for me for the very first time, my camera's coming with me!
I went to an auto show of old wood-paneled cars called "Woodies on the Warf" when I spent that summer in Santa Cruz, CA. It was fun.
